Customers often tell us things that they have heard about their plumbing that we want spend time discussing and teaching you the truth about. Let’s waste no time and just dive in.

The most common one we have heard is that putting lemon peals down your garbage disposal will make it smell good. The truth is that while it will smell good, your garbage disposal will get clogged. Rather pour some white vinegar down the drain to freshen up the smell a little. Similarly, to this myth, it is said that putting ice cubes down the garbage disposal can sharpen the blades, this is not true however, they will clean the blades and get rid of any bad smells.

Next, we have been told that our customers thought it is okay to flush away flushable wipes. The truth is that flushable wipes don’t biodegrade in the way they need to and can end up clogging the pipes.

A third myth we have heard is that plumbing is low maintenance. This comes from people when it’s too late and they are in an emergency. The truth is that your plumbing needs to be used and checked regularly. This is to prevent later crisis that result in damage and costly repairs.

If you have any questions about your plumbing or you hear something that might not seem right, give us a call, we would be happy to help you!
